Q How much does it cost?
A The charge is £175 per week or £25 per day.
Q Can you tell me the cost for those whose stay is not welfare-related?
A The charge is still £175 per week but priority will be given to welfare applicants. If you are in financial difficulty but still need a break, you can apply through a SSAFA case worker for financial assistance from the RAF Benevolent Fund.
Q How do I pay?
A Payment will be at the end of your stay. Unfortunately we are unable to accept credit and debit cards so please be prepared to pay by cash or cheque.
Q Am I eligible to stay?
A Seacot is a primarily a welfare facility but is available to all serving and retired RAF personnel, their spouses, partners and dependent children. Priority will be given to serving RAF families with welfare needs although in low season consideration will be given to any member of the RAF family.
Q If I wish to take meals in the restaurant in Princess Marina House how much will it cost?
A You are welcome to use the restaurant at Princess Marina House - please contact reception on the day before to reserve a table. You may also arrange for a meal to be delivered to Seacot House. Three course lunch costs £6 per person. For more details please speak to the Catering Manager during your stay.
Q Can another person stay with us in the house, for example, not RAF but extended family?
A You may invite anyone to share the house with you during your stay. Please ensure that you inform us of anyone staying so that we can make up sufficient beds in the configuration you require.
Q Can I loan a wheelchair or mobility scooter for my stay?
A We have manual and electric wheelchairs, and mobility scooters that we can loan to visitors. All visitors wishing to use them will be required to do a safety test and will only be loaned the equipment if passed as safe.
Q Can I bring my dog?
A Unfortunately we are unable to accept dogs in the house unless they are guide dogs.
Q Do I get any notification of my booking?
A All applicants will receive a letter of confirmation of booking.
Q Is smoking permitted?
A Smoking is not permitted in the buildings or vehicles and only allowed in designated areas in our grounds. Please note that we do not expect our staff or volunteers to help with guests’ smoking needs.
Q Do I need insurance?
A Yes. To ensure you have protection against the majority of incidents that can spoil or affect a holiday, all fully or partially self-funding guests and carers should take out travel insurance.
Q What time should I arrive and depart for my break?
A You should check in after 3 pm. You must vacate the house by 10am on the day of departure. Early arrival or late departure may be possible by prior arrangement.
